Pedal for Parkinson’s 2016. I can assure you it will be a fantastic event, not only raising needed funds for increased Awareness but also providing education information to the Parkinson’s Community of Central Illinois. Things will be a little different this year with all the funds raised staying here at the local level. This year our fundraising efforts will benefit the American Parkinson’s Disease Association and the Don Bohlander Parkinson’s Disease FundRACERS. Both organizations are committed to providing support to the local community. APDA Midwest Chapter provides support to the local Support Groups by providing training for Leaders and Grants to help fund programing. The Bohlander group provides funding to Bradley University to support the Parkinson’s research done there by Dr. Craig Cady, along with providing support to the local Support Group. Both groups are 501c3 and contributions are tax deductible, W-9 form is available upon request.
A great afternoon of Parkinson’s Disease Awareness will take place on Saturday November 5th. Pedal for Parkinson’s will combine an afternoon of awareness and education with a fundraising event. Attendees will get sponsors for riding a stationary bike for 15 minutes. Included with this event will be a fantastic line up of speakers and a number of Parkinson’s related displays. A Patient Partner Program: Christopher Sheridan with Abbvie, will talk about the Doupa Pump Dr. Dronacharya Lamichhane, A New Parkinson’s Treatment, A Strong APDA Midwest Chapter Ricki Chaldez Program Director, Dr. Craig Cady Bradley University with his stem cell research update and The Folksy Art of Everyday Surprises Rick Neuhaus and Family We will also have several Parkinson’s related displays and a light snack. Once again we hope to build on last year’s success and I hope that you can join us for this outstanding event.
